Hay Fever
Hay Fever is one of Noel Cowards most durable comedies. It's a wonderfully witty and deliciously snarky classic full of secret seductions, misjudged meetings and wicked revelations - thoroughly, irresistibly heartless, full of secret seductions, misjudged meetings and wicked revelations.
The Bliss family love intrigue, love arguing and really love a spotlight. They are everything a respectable family ought not to be unconventional, uncensored and unapologetic. When each of the four outrageously eccentric Bliss family members invites a guest to their rural retreat, the unassuming visitors face a hectic living melodrama from which there seems to be no escape.
Background: In the summer of 1921, Coward spent many evenings in the Manhattan home of playwright Hartley Manners and his wife, the eccentric actress Laurette Taylor. Years later, their over-the-top theatrical lifestyle would inspire Coward's comic hit "Hay Fever."
