Raise the Roots 2012
We are happy to announce our partnership with Organicism Farms and Foods for our third annual Raise the Roots dinner at the Plaid Apron on Thursday, November 8th, from 6-9 PM. The unique farm to table supper will be locally-sourced with produce from Organicism Farms and Beardsley Farm and will be prepared by Organicism Farms and Foods. Guests will have an opportunity to learn about CAC Beardsley Community Farm, Organicism Farms and Foods, meet farm volunteers, and share their own experiences on gardening and cooking in Knoxville and East Tennessee.
Dinner will be served promptly at 6:30 PM.
Admission: Tickets are $45 for individuals and $160 for a table of four.
About the dinner: The supper will be vegetarian, and vegan options will be available upon advanced request. To request a vegan option, please email beardsleyfarm@gmail.com.
About beverages: We will serve water, tea, and coffee. Guests are welcome to bring their own wine. There will be a wine corkage fee of $3 per glass.

About CAC Beardsley Farm:
CAC Beardsley Community Farm has promoted food security and sustainable urban agriculture through practice, education, and community outreach for 13 years. Beardsley Farm grows and donates over 4,000 pounds of produce annually to local food pantries, and a women's shelter. The farm additionally offers extensive child, youth, and adult education programming on growing food organically. We also offer 30 free garden plots for members of our local community and host an urban fruit orchard in Malcolm Martin Park.
And we need volunteers to make it all happen! Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn a wide range of gardening skills, such as composting, seed saving, beekeeping, basic construction, and everything in-between.
