Yemeni Lunch with Nosh Walks
Myra Alperson, who has been hosting culinary tours in NYC for over 30 years, will be leading this very special event with Breaking Bread NYC to benefit the International Rescue Committee (www.IRC.org).
This Yemeni lunch will feature a sit-down meal plus some markets and dessert at an ancient Italian bakery in the Van Nest neighborhood of the Bronx. Tickets are $40, which includes all food. Myra is donating her time and talents, so all proceeds from the tour will benefit the International Rescue Committee.
The group will be meet at 1 PM in front of Al-Maraj Market, 1903 White Plains Road. Take the #2 train to Bronx Park East (the #5 sometimes stops there, too - make sure you're taking the #5 to Wakefield), make a quick right on Sagamore Street and then right onto White Plains Road. The market is a very short walk down the street. The restaurant is nearby. Guests are encouraged to stay and enjoy the neighborhood after the event concludes.
