South Shore Theatre Experience & The Parlor of Mystery present Magic & Comedy
Local favorite magicians Steve Rodman, Wayne Haarhaus and Mike Maione along with special guest Jim Vines will perform at the February 19 Parlor of Mystery Show.
West Hempstead resident and Steve Rodman returns by popular demand to the Parlor of Mystery in February. Rodman who is one of Long Islands favorite comedy magicians puts a funny twist on classic illusions and provides a classy take on new magic. Rodman has performed around the world and opened for top musical acts. He was also the magic consultant for the hit Broadway musical The Wiz.
Wayne Haarhaus, also from Long Island will perform some of his favorite routines. Haarhaus has been performing for over 25 years. His presentations are always baffling and presented with stories that are entertaining and thought provoking. Haarhaus will get into your head and read your mind. So, audience members are advised not to think of anything embarrassing. Haarhaus is a member of the Society of American Magicians and the International Brotherhood of Magicians.
As a special treat sleight of hand artist, Jim Vines, will perform his award-winning close-up act. Vines is an award winning close-up performer who won first place at the Canadian Association of Magicians and the Gold Medal in close-up magic at the Pacific Coast Association of Magicians. Vines will perform the act that he will be taking to FISM, the Olympics of magic which takes place every three years. This is a rare opportunity to see an award-winning competition close-up act, close up, as it is meant to be seen.
The evening will be hosted by producer and emcee Mike Maione. Maione is Long Islands silliest magician and best known for family friendly entertainment. He is one of the originators of the Parlor of Mystery and frequently produces and performs at many Parlor of Mystery shows where his magic has a decidedly more grown-up flavor. Maione also lectures and has produced magic magic props and routines used by magicians around the globe.
