Woody Guthrie: Tunes and Tales of the Columbia River
Laura Sable and Bill Wiemuth once again honor the Coeur d'Alene Public Library Foundation in presenting the fascinating story of Woody Guthrie. This presentation features the wonderful music and the fascinating story of Woody Guthrie's 1941 contract with the federal government to write songs promoting further development of hydroelectric power along the Columbia River. It's a story that dramatically impacted the history of the Northwest and created a regional folk music legacy
