Foday Musa Suso is an amazing Kora player from Gambia and a direct descendant of the man who created the Kora. Suso has performed with Herbie Hancock, Kronos Quartet, Jack DeJohnette and Phillip Glass. Suso and Glass composed the music for the film "Powaqqatsi" and other projects. This is Suso's first Santa Cruz performance in over a decade.

John Malkin is a pianist/percussionist who's created music for dance, film and concerts. John performs solo piano concerts and has collaborated with a variety of musicians and artists including Paul Sprawl and Christian Kesten (Berlin). Last year he played a solo piano concert in Mallorca, Spain. John has created music for many choreographers and dancers including Frey Faust, Mel Wong, Tandy Beal, Stephanie Spencer and others.

Bill Walker (opening performer) is a guitar virtuoso who has played in a variety of bands including Worlds Collide and Tao Chemical. He's a pioneer innovator in guitar looping and collaborates with his drummer/brother Rick Walker and wife/singer Nancy LeVan.
