Confessions From The War
Scarecrow and Layalina Productions present an exclusive screening of Confessions From The War, a work-in-progress documentary on the war in Lebanon, followed by a post-film discussion with special guest panelists. This event is free for Grand Illusion members and Scarecrow Members at the $50+ level.
How does a middle-aged man redeem himself for war crimes he committed as a teen? The Lebanese Civil War, which lasted from 1975 to 1990, left 230 thousand dead, one million wounded and over one million without homes. Lebanon has since been physically rebuilt, but the underlying tensions that led to the conflict continue to haunt the people of Lebanon. As the war in Syria drags on -- devastating the region -- extremist groups such as ISIS and Jabhat Al Nusra are radicalizing some Lebanese youth. The country is once again on the brink of war.
