Audio Air Force presents the radio version of "The Maltese Falcon" Robin Theatre 1105 S. Washington Ave, Lansing
Show at 7PM Doors open at 6:30PM Admission $10 Limited seating, one performance
This classic story originally was a novel which appeared first in 1929. It was written by Dashiell Hammet, who was for a time a real private investigator. His character Sam Spade is based on himself. The story has been in films four times, the first time in 1931. The most well known film is the version starring Humphrey Bogart and Mary Astor, which was nominated as Best Production of the Year for the 1941 Academy Award!.
It has also been produced for the stageand radio, which is the version that will be presented. The radio version of The Maltese Falcon was broadcast in 1946 to promote the films re-release to theaters across the country.
The Audio Air Force will use the original script and have live music and a crew doing the live sound effects as the actors will perform on stage. Performances of the Audio Air Force are slightly different than stage plays... they use the "theater of the mind" to tell stories.
