Wild Women of the West, Part II
An idea was born during rehearsals of Mendo BobFest this year. Looking around the room of performers, Mendocino Stories and Music Series director Pattie DeMatteo decided to produce a two-night event celebrating the wonderful and talented women of our area. Part II, acoustic and electric music, is on Saturday November 3, at the Hill House of Mendocino, starting at 7:30PM.
Sheila Fetzer, singer/songwriter, has performed several times for the Series, including her dynamic performance singing "Well well well" with Marcus McCallen at Mendo BobFest this year. Following her in the first set will be singer/songwriter Nancyjoy Evans, Comptche resident, who uses her music to recognize the preciousness of life and love. With her banjo-powered medicine show, astrologer Antonia Lamb, is inclined to speak with wacky humor. Closing the first set is "In the Mix", women's a cappella group.
Members of party band Frida's Circus Christy Wells, Pilar Duran and Lady J will be joined by Claudia Paige on drums and Laura Maione, bass for the second "electric dance party" set. Special guest vocalists include songwriter Sue Sisk, Sharon Garner of Shades of Gray, lead singer of The Gatecrashers Jamie Peters, Cherie Sheraque from Samba Jamba and songwriter Pattie DeMatteo.
Doors open at 6:30PM. Dinner menu and full bar. Reserved table seating $20, general admission $15 in advance. $20 at the door. For more info call Pattie at 707-937-1732 or www.mendocinostories.com/events.html
