A comic masterpiece in the Restoration style, The Rivals was first performed at Covent Garden in London in 1775. It was a favorite of the Royal Family and was George Washington's favorite play. It became a standard in the repertoire of English and American theatre companies throughout the 19th century.
It's now considered one of Sheridan's masterpieces and is credited with popularizing the term "malapropism".
Seats only guaranteed if you reserve in advance. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to showtime. Please allow time for parking.
Admission is free, but donations at the door are welcome.
