The Dumb Supper - A Feast With Our Ancestors
Some say the veil is thin this time of year. And what if we choose to believe?
We invite to the table, our ancestors. We show them not just tricks, or treats, but songs and dances, and a vision of undeniable beauty and wholeness. And wha t was once broken becomes whole.
Before our concert and dance performance "For Our Ancestors" at St. Paul's Cathedral, we will come together in a magical setting in the Cathedral basement to light candles, call in our Ancestors, and honor them by eating in silence and making space for them. We will be joined by the musicians/dancers/cast and will be fed with the incredible fare of Imani Mamalution.
In many cultures, ancestor worship is an ancient practice. Although traditionally found more in African and Asian societies, more and more people who want to connect with their heritage are beginning to embrace this idea. After all, we all want to know where we came from. We will build an altar to honor your ancestors, featuring photos, heirlooms, and/or any materials that hold a connection for you to that friend or loved one.
Dumb Supper Harvest Menu: (meal is served backwards)
Dessert: Pumpkin Apple Bread, Pear Puree & Pomegranate Seeds
Entrée: Curried Red Lentils, Quinoa & Steamed Kale
Soup: Butternut Bisque Bevy
Salad: Mesclun Greens with A Mushroom Vinegar Dressing
Bring your own wine ~ please inform us of any allergies or dietary restrictions upon registering.
Vegan and gluten free options available.
Please arrive at 6pm. At 6:30 the doors will be closed as the meal will begin and can't be disturbed.

the Show will be finished around 11:45pm
