THE ROUTE 66 INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 2 and SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2012
The Route 66 International Film Festival, in its eleventh year, is held in Springfield, Illinois, the state capitol and heart of the midwest. With submissions from every continent except Antarctica, the Route 66 Fest is a growing venue for independent filmmakers worldwide.
Several films shown at the festival have been nominated for Academy Awards; Moviemaker magazine listed it as one of the 25 festivals worth the entry fee, and it was a featured festival at the 2009 International Film Festival Summit in Las Vegas.
The 2012 Fest will be held at the recently restored Legacy Theatre, a beautiful, intimate space that creates an ideal environment for cinema. All seating is general admission.
The Legacy Theatre is also known for it's superb popcorn, and availability of adult beverages which may be consumed inside the theatre.
