About the Producers Airfield Estates is a family owned & operated winery located in Prosser, Washington -- in the heart of the Yakima Valley AVA. The Miller family has been farming in the Yakima Valley for four generations and the first estate vines were planted in 1968. Today, the estate vineyard spans over 860 acres and includes 27 different varieties. Airfield Estates wines are crafted using 100% estate grown fruit. Airport Ranch has been supplying the Washington state wine industry with the finest quality grapes since the late 1970s, becoming one of the largest grape producers in the States. As a new generation of Millers took over in the vineyard, the passion and determination to craft estate wines grew and Airfield Estates was born. The vineyard is situated within near the original WWII airbase, at the foot of the Rattlesnake Mountains in the Yakima Valley. Constructed in 1941 and decommissioned in the mid-1940s, the airbase building became the headquarters of the Miller familys farming. Two of the original hangars still exist and the Miller family continues to use them as winery workshop and storage facilities.
