Arsenic and Old Lace
When the elderly Abby and Martha Brewster offer their lonely gentlemen callers a glass of homemade elderberry wine, the results are always fatal--and hilarious. It's up to their young nephew Mortimer to deal with his homicidal aunts, his brother who believes he's Teddy Roosevelt, his newly betrothed fiance, and his murderous brother who has recently undergone plastic surgery to look like Frankenstein's monster, all while trying to keep the police at bay.
Analy Arts Theatre Department is proud to present their fall production of ARSENIC AND OLD LACE -- the hilarious, classic, screwball comedy of stage and screen, which is as funny today as when it debuted in 1941.
With a cast featuring a strong mix of Analy Arts veterans and talented newcomers, ARSENIC AND OLD LACE is the perfect comedy for fans of slapstick and intelligent wordplay alike.
The original 1941 Broadway play was written by Joseph Kesselring, then became a film starring Cary Grant and featuring Boris Karloff, Raymond Massey and Peter Lorre.
