Evolution Music Presents: THE BUNNY THE BEAR w/ A Faylene Sky & Surrounded by Monsters
THE BUNNY THE BEAR The Bunny the Bear is an American post-hardcore band from Buffalo, New York. Formed in 2008 by Matthew Tybor, also referred to as "The Bunny" hence the rabbit mask and persona he incorporates in the group. Tybor was immediately joined by Chris Hutka, known as "The Bear" whom likewise, wears a bear mask. Tybor employs screamed vocals for the band while Hutka provides clean vocals. Tybor also writes all music and lyrics for the band.
The Bunny the Bear's self-titled debut album was self-distributed in 2010 and was followed up with 2011's If You Don't Have Anything Nice to Say which was issued through Victory after their signing to the label in February 2011. Their next album, The Stomach for It, was released on May 22, 2012.
A FAYLENE SKY After their first release in 2007, "The Hero Vs. Us", A Faylene Sky made themselves public to the Providence, Rhode Island music scene and began a journey to be heard. By the time their second EP was released in 2009, "Define Alive", the band became widely recognized as an original new footprint in post-hardcore. The six-piece aims to excite a variety of different emotions for any listener, and tell stories within lyrics that stimulate the imaginations of fans. The members of A Faylene Sky will stop at nothing to deliver the most moving riffs as well as punishing breakdowns. They will tackle their obstacles as a team and celebrate their success as a family. Their upcoming songs are expected to display the band in a new light with genius riffs and epic composition. Look for A Faylene Sky to be touring non stop in 2011 throughout the United States.
SURROUNDED BY MONSTERS "That's my favorite part of it. We don't really have a genre. We don't have hooks and we don't have choruses. The mood is just constantly changing and everyone puts in a piece of what they like that just makes craziness." Traci Pason, keyboardist and backingvocalist of Denton, TX based Surrounded By Monsters, speaks of the band's unclassified sound. This can be heard in full glory on their upcoming EP "Novella".
The outfit's upcoming six song EP Novella, meaning short stories, gives listeners complex metal shredding (including six string bass) rifts over a melodic base. These compositions are fleshed out with each member's own influences, ranging from The Dillinger Escape Plan to Radiohead to Bjork. "I try to bring the pretty and girly side to it," says self-proclaimed Tori Amos fan, Pason. The aggressive and complex side is in full swing on the band's lead off track Dr Phuck which has a music video directed by Justin Beasley (IWrestledABearOnce, The Demonstration), the video is a modern metal take on the 1989 film, "The Little Monsters".
Having been a part of different bands throughout New York, Michigan and Texas, the members came together in Denton in 2007 to form Surrounded By Monsters who derived their moniker from a comic book. Since those early days, there have been a few switch-ups, but for the past two years, Surrounded By Monsters has stuck with their lineup. "I've always been the type of girl that does things only boys can do. It's always been my kind of thing, but they are my family and I love it", says Pason, who brings the female perspective to the male dominated metal group, which includes Mike Batson (lead vocals), John McCoy (guitar), Lee Dudley (guitar), Joe Demerrit (bass) and Chris Hoedebeck (drums).
Dropping their second EP "Planet Horror" independently in 2009, the six-piece band is excited about their pairing with the BlkHeart Group, who they connected with through IWrestledABearOnce's guitarist Steven Bradley. The band's relationship with Bradley is seven years strong. "I just can't imagine a better fit", say Pason of the band's management. Along with the afore-mentioned IWrestledABearOnce, Surrounded By Monsters has also toured with The Chariot, The Color Of Violence and Chelsea Grin.
Much like their horror and comic book influence the EP ends on a cliffhanger with the last two tracks respectively Chapter 1 and Chapter 2,acting as a mini novella. While Chapter 1 tells the story of an indiscretion in a relationship, Chapter 2 focuses on the resolution of the problem. The band hints that future chapters will appear on their future releases as well. Question: |
What's the difference between General, Evelynn, and My Deepest Dream tickets |
Answer: |
All tickets grant you the same access. They are all general admission to the event. Specifying "Evelynn" or "My Deepest Dream" simply shows your support for that particular local band. If you discovered this ticket link because of one of them select that ticket option. If you're buying tickets because you're simply a fan of The Bunny The Bear or one of the other touring bands then select "General". If you have further questions feel free to call/text 708.620.2615 |
