SW Washington SHRM Luncheon Event "Breaking Hearts: Candidate Rejection and the Impact on your Company's Brand"
Please join us for an open forum on the best practices in the fine art of sending rejection letters to applicants that we are no longer pursuing in our talent searches. We will open the discussion with a review of the academic research in this area as well as anecdotal evidence.
Examples will be provided from for-profit, non-profit and public sectors to offer opportunities to compare and contrast practices from Federal and State agencies, Higher Education and various private sector industries to provide a broad overview of current practice and highlight the challenges that are faced.
Implications for reputation effects and relationship management are discussed. The goal is to create an open dialogue about the issue of sending such letters to whom, what, when and why in order to conduct principled and ethical hiring practices and maintain positive relationships among the stakeholders that we serve.
