Nadia leaves her East Jerusalem home, marries her PLO boyfriend and goes to live with him in London knowing she can never return home. Hes arrested; she establishes a hidden life. Finally, using papers identifying her as a Jewish woman, she returns to West Jerusalem. She marries a Jewish man, has children and enjoys a successful career when the past catches up with her. The film raises questions about identity, the consequences of past actions, the ability to accept the other and forgiveness.
