Find the right flake to your shell and let it become the vehicle for everything your refrigerator and pantry, the season and the place have to offer for a quick informal dish perfect for holiday entertaining.

A crostata is the easy home made dessert for which one never has to run to the store. After having learnt to make a foolproof pasta frolla, Italian pastry crust, the students will share in my mother's secrets to cleaning out her pantry of jams leftovers, overripe fruit and various confections to make unforgettable tarts.
