NPR Music + Soundcheck Present: Live In Concert
NPR Music & WNYC's Soundcheck will co-present and broadcast a showcase on Wednesday, October 17th at (Le) Poisson Rouge with:

Flying Lotus:
In his only performance during the CMJ Festival week, Los Angeles-based electronic composer Steven Ellison, a.k.a. Flying Lotus, headlines the NPR Music event on the heels of his recently released new album Until the Quiet Comes. Ellison's distinctive collages of hip-hop, dubstep, jazz and blues have garnered both critical and popular acclaim.
Death Grips:
The uncompromising noise-rap group plays its first New York City show since releasing a major-label debut back in April. As the band's abrasive, jittery sound has developed and intense following in the interim, witness six months of anticipation unleashed on stage and in the crowd.
Buke and Gase:
Having recently released an EP, Function Falls, and also announced a new album, this performance offers an opportunity to hear live renditions of new music from the unpredictable and inventive duo as well as favorites.
Ali Shaheed Muhammad:
One-third of the legendary rap group A Tribe Called Quest, the DJ, producer and co-host of NPR Music's Microphone Check stream will keep the crowd bumping all night spinning records between band sets.
