Hard Cider Making Basics
In this hands-on course you'll learn how to turn fresh apples into hard cider. After an overview of the cider-making process, attendees will press apples and begin the fermentation. Attendees will leave the workshop with all the information needed to make cider at home. Taking home the basic equipment and ingredients needed to make a micro-batch is optional.
Instructor Matt Pope is a hobby fermenter who started out brewing beer but has recently focused on cider and wine. He learned what he knows by scrubbing tanks at cideries and wineries, listening to the pros, and reading books. He was raised in the 'apple capital of the world,' Wenatchee, Washington, but now calls Seattle home.
