Holiday Treat Sampler: Baking Class

An important lesson that we learned as children was that holidays shouldn't be about spending loads of money on gifts. Special occasions were marked primarily with time spent together, engaging in family traditions from baking Panettone for family friends to heading up to the mountains in search of the perfect Charlie Brown Christmas tree.

We are delighted to share our secrets and treasured family recipes with you in this four-hour class. We'll enjoy some savory snacks together before highlighting some of America's most delicious Holiday baking traditions, discuss different techniques (rolled cookies, drop cookies, bars, confections) and lead you through making a variety of sweets on your own.

At the end, you'll head home with a full sampler to share with your family or give as a gift.

Please bring your own apron, rolling pin, knife, and a decorative tin so that you may transport your goodies home in style at the end of class!

Lenore Estrada and Anna Derivi-Castellanos hail from California's Central Valley and have been friends and bakers since childhood. Lenore attended Yale before trying her hand at tech, luxury event planning, finance, marketing, teaching and writing before returning to Northern California to try her hand at business. After attending UC Santa Barbara, Anna pursued her dual passions - cooking and building community through food by working in the natural and organic grocery business and attending culinary school. In May of 2011, Lenore and Anna decided to revisit their childhood passion and launched Three Babes Bakeshop a sweet and savory pie company with a focus on promoting economic growth and sustainable agriculture in the Central Valley. They are committed to promoting pesticide-free farming and to inspiring others to create positive change in the world. Currently, you can find their pies at the Noe Valley Farmer's Market and Salumeria on Saturdays, and for special order on GoodEggs any day of the week.
