JP Autumn Clothing Swap
SWAPPING IS FUN!
Swapping is not only a great way to revitalize your wardrobe while having a good time - it's also a super environmentally-friendly thing to do. You're diverting clothes from landfill, cutting carbon emissions, opting for fashion without exploitation AND saving money!
WHAT TO DO
Bring at least three clean new, like-new or gently worn items to swap: we accept men's and women's clothing, shoes, hats, bags, belts, scarves, jewelry (sorry, no lingerie, swimwear, exercise gear or children's clothing). All sizes and all seasons welcome! Please put jewelry into ziplock bags, and pin things together that come in pairs so they stay that way.
Remember: bring something that you are proud to pass on. If you wouldn't lend it to a friend, don't bring it to the swap! We screen garments to uphold the quality. Event organizers have the final say as to what's swappable and what's not.
Swapping is done on a one-for-one exchange. For each swappable item you bring, you'll get a ticket. You can then go home with as many items as you brought!
Anything left over after the swap will be contributed to Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries of Massachusetts, who is generously lending us the use of garment racks, hangers, and rolling bins.
EXPRESS CHECK-IN
To save time and to qualify for Express check-in, drop off your clothes in advance! Drop off is Friday 11/2 from 7pm to 8pm AND Saturday 11/3 from 9am to noon (or by arrangement, email Sarah Hawkins at firstchurchswap@gmail.com). At 1pm on swap day, you'll just zip right through the check-in lane!
SWAP FROM 1pm to 4pm
Swapping begins promptly at 1pm (and not a minute sooner)! If you don't drop your clothes off in advance you'll be able to check in at 1pm. Bring your swappables to the check-in table for screening, pay your admission, get your swap exchange tickets, and go swapping!
If you've arranged for Express Check-in, you'll just zip right through after you pay your admission, get your swap exchange tickets and your name's been checked off the list.
