IN CONVERSATION WITH SPANISH WRITER JAVIER CERCAS
Javier Cercas is a novelist, short-story writer and essayist, whose books include El móvil (The Motive), and Relatos reales (True Tales). Since the book Soldados de Salamina was published, it has sold more than 500,000 copies in all editions in Spain. It is being published in more than fifteen languages (it has already appeared to acclaim in France, Germany and Italy). He is a regular contributor to the Catalan edition of El País. In his latest novel, Anatomía de un instante (The Anatomy of a Moment), Cercas examines a key moment in Spanish history - the attempted coup in the Spanish Parliament on 23 February 1981.
