Mark Twain at the Nevada Theatre
The Gold Country's best impersonator of Mark Twain, legendary author and America's best known humorist comes to life once again at the historic Nevada Theatre, 401 Broad Street in beautiful downtown Nevada City, April 18 & 19, shows at 8 pm. Chris LeGate, as Sam Clemens (aka Mark Twain) has delighted audiences throughout Northern California since 1994. After a 4 year hiatus, he returns to the oldest continually running theatre where the original Mr. Clemens lectured in 1866 & back again in 1868. A unique setting preluded by terrific live music, LeGate's uncanny resemblance and superior stage presence lends itself to an unforgettable evening in the most beautiful of the Sierra Foothills gold rush towns. Pre show music by the one and only Chris Crockett begins at 7:15 (doors open at 7) and ignites a lively and entertaining lecture showcasing Mark Twain's boyhood, travels, and literary adventures. A question and answer session rounds out Act II, where the audience is encourages to ask Mark Twain about himself and his life & trials. Again, a great evening to be had by all!! Doors open at 7.....TROUBLE begins at 8!
