WORKSHOP: Gender Self-Esteem with Scott Turner Schofield
WORKSHOP!
Gender Self Esteem: Loving Non-Conformity for All Bodies and Identities
11/10, 1030am-1230pm
For: Transgender individuals of any identity or experience.
Participants will identify their positive traits as they relate to their lives as gender non-conforming or transgender people. They will link these traits to the places in their lives where their strength is most needed, and create a plan for linking their truths to their individual powers in an everyday context.
Scott Turner Schofield is a writer, performer, and educator creating theater about gender and sexuality in the Deep South. He is also a man who was a woman, a lesbian turned straight guy who is often called a fag. Not surprisingly, his work centers on contradictions and comedy. Schofield has been touring his original solo performances to colleges, festivals, and theaters nationwide since 2001. These autobiographical monologues challenge fundamental gender assumptions with stories of searching, embarrassment, pride, and the joy of finding yourself on your own terms.
