Cold War 2.0: The Baltic States of Anxiety
Russian aggression against Ukraine put its northern neighbors on high alert. Will Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia become the next targets of Russian political and military aggression? Is NATO membership a guarantee of safety and security? Do local Russian ethnic minorities play a role in a seemingly heightened state of anxiety in the region? Vytautas Landsbergis, first president of independent Lithuania and a former Member of the European parliament, and Janis Mazeiks, the Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to the United Nations, and Karl Altau, the managing Director of the Joint Baltic American National Committee, will ponder these and other questions. This program is in English.
