ABOUT DOROTHY STONE: Based in New York City, Dorothy Stone has taught and performed in opera, operetta, musical theatre and recitals throughout the United States, Europe and South America. In demand as both active performer and master teacher, she combines her unique and holistic style of teaching with a broad knowledge of vocal repertoire, encompassing a large variety of musical styles. She has travelled extensively to coach singers throughout the United States, France, Switzerland, Canada, England, Hungary, Bulgaria, Russia, Germany, Greece, Chile, Uruguay and Argentina. As a performer, Ms. Stone has earned critical acclaim on three continents for her interpretations of the leading roles in Verdi's Aida, Il Trovatore, Otello, and Un Ballo in Maschera, as well as the soprano solo in his Requiem, both in the U.S. and with the Bulgarian National Radio Orchestra. She has also performed leading roles in La Boheme, Carmen, Norma, The Dialogues of the Carmelites, The Rape of Lucretia, The Merry Widow, Die Fledermaus, The Marriage of Figaro, The Magic Flute and Hansel & Gretel.
ABOUT ORI DAGAN: Toronto's Ori Dagan, winner of a CBC Radio 1 competition that named him "Canada's Next Top Crooner," was initially inspired to sing by Ella Fitzgerald's genius scat solos. He spent nearly a decade studying jazz formally before releasing his debut album, "S'Cat Got My Tongue," which garnered critical acclaim for the singer's sense of musical adventure. JazzTimes called him "a budding Kurt Elling" and The Los Angeles Jazz Scene proclaimed that the album is "a major step forward for Ori Dagan, who in a few years will likely be very well known in the jazz world." On Dagan's new release, "Less Than Three (<3)" the vocalist explores new territory, including reimagined pop songs, standards, originals, with selections in his native tongue of Hebrew stirred into the mix; this recording has earned him a 2012 Toronto Independent Music Award nomination in the Best Jazz category.
