Zentangle: what is it?

Many of us do not consider ourselves artists- in fact many of us claim we have NO artistic skill at all. But maybe there is something in all of us that can reach the part of us that can do artistic things. So I introduce you to Zentangle, an easy to learn, relaxing way to draw structured patterns resulting in beautiful designs. You will be amazed at how artistic you are!

Intro to Zentangle - The Basics

There are five basic shapes used in Zentangle. In this class guest artist and certified Zentangle instructor Lise Orwig will guide students to learn eight Zentangle patterns using those five shapes. By the end of class you will complete two Zentangle tiles using those patterns and the simple method of setting up and executing the drawing of the paper "tiles". You will also learn some basic shading techniques. All supplies are included and students leave with 5 paper tiles (two completed and three to take home), pen, pencil, tortillian and a handy carrying bag.
