ARTS OF INDIA WORKSHOP

In this series, children and caregivers will enjoy uplifting stories from India, explore examples of related Indian art, and create works of art to take home. Crafts will include dipa making, toy cow painting, pinwheel construction, printmaking, and rangoli/kolam design. Mangala Bühler-Rose is a professional mehndi artist born, bred, and based in NYC. Mangala began studying yoga and philosophy in 1992, igniting a love affair with art forms of India's bhakti traditions, including sanjhi paper cutting, rangoli flour design, Odissi dance, and mehndi traditions of Northern India.
Since then, Mangala has lived, studied and served in ashrams throughout India and the United States. She harmonizes fruits of these experiences with a background in social work and education to yield an uplifting, creative, accessible, and pleasing experience for her students and clients.
Mangala Bühler-Rose is certified by ICNHA (International Certification for Henna Arts).
