She Has A Name
She Has A Name is adapted from the stage play that has thrilled audiences and wowed critics internationally. The film tells the story of two brave and beautiful girls forced into unimaginable circumstances  one who escaped, the other hoping to get out. Jason, a lawyer, poses as a john to build a legal case against a ruthless pimp who is trafficking girls in Asia. He meets Number 18, a girl forced to work as a prostitute in a busy red light district whose testimony is key to his case. Can he convince her to risk her life to testify for the sake of justice before it's too late?

This independent, Canadian-made film is truly international, with no less than 10 nations represented in the cast and crew. New York-based actor Teresa Ting (Orange is the New Black) is cast as NUMBER 18 alongside Vancouver-based actor Giovanni Mocibob (Supernatural, Aftermath, The Romeo Section) who plays JASON in the films lead roles. They are joined by Hong Kong Oscar-winning actor Eugenia Yuan (MAMMA)(Memoirs of a Geisha, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny), Korean-American actor Will Yun Lee (AKKARAT) (The Wolverine, San Andreas, Hawaii Five-0, Spy, True Blood), Vancouver-born Gil Bellows (ALEX) (Shawshank Redemption, Ally McBeal, The Agency, Eyewitness), American actor Deborah Fennelly (MARTA) and Vancouver-based actor Holly Pillsbury as ALI (TWU alumni). The North American cast is supported by Singapores Vanessa Toh (MAE), and Thai-based actors Charlie Ruedpokanon (VICTOR) and Tanawich Wongsuwan (CHAI). The film is directed by Canadian filmmakers Matthew and Daniel Kooman from a screenplay by Andrew Kooman. Vietnamese-born and LA based Bob Nguyen is Director of Photography.

A talkback with director Daniel Kooman and actors Giovanni Mocibob and Holly Pillsbury will follow the film.
