Oliver!
Join Haven Academy of the Arts as we take you back to London during the industrial revolution. Based on Charles Dickens' classic, Oliver Twist, the musical OLIVER! tells the story of a young orphan caught up in the underground world of crime. Dickens originally wrote the novel in order to draw awareness to the effects of poverty. OLIVER! is a beautiful story of perseverance that highlights important themes such as adoption, family, and caring for the poor.
OLIVER! was first presented in London, where it played for 2,618 performances at the New Theatre. It played for 774 performances on Broadway at the Imperial and Shubert Theatres. It has been revived on Broadway and in London several times. Its well-known musical numbers - Food, Glorious Food, I'd Do Anything, Where is Love?, Consider Yourself, As Long As He Needs Me, Who Will Buy and Reviewing the Situation - are musical theatre classics.
