"An Absurd Night"
"An Absurd Night" brings together ENC students and alum as they present some of their favorite absurdist one-acts. "The Lesson" showcases one of absurdism's most popular playwrights, Eugene Ionesco, as he comments on the ridiculousness of language and the difficulty of teaching and learning. August Strindberg's "The Stronger" looks at what power and womanhood mean and how silence can be stronger than words. "The American Dream" remembers Edward Albee at his best as it comments on the futility of getting everything society tells us we are supposed to have. David Mamet's "The Duck Variations" shines the spotlight on what it means to have a friend in old age. Seating is limited so please reserve early. ________________________________________
