EIGHT ANNUAL SOUTH CHURCH GALA FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE
World class food and world class music, by themselves, make life a sensuous and elegant delight. Put them together in one evening, at the same place, and what you would have is a taste of paradise. Is what you could have at the South Church Gala, on the evening of NOVEMBER 17TH, beginning at 6:00pm. From Paris, our own local French Chef extraodinaire, serving fine food accompanied by excellent wine; from Lincoln Center and the Metropolitan Opera, musicians from the world's stages, joined by local performing friendsand all of this to support the work of a congregation so in love with these little river towns, our world, the magnificent possibilities for being human.
If you haven't been able to come before, make this the year to treat yourself, your family and friends to a truly lovely and remarkable evening.
This year's theme is LOCAL!! With an eye towards sustainability, support of local farmers and purveyors, artists and musicians, we have come up with a menu of local delights and a musical program featuring both the music of New York, and some of New York's finest to perform it.
The cost is $125 a person, or if you wish to reserve a table of ten, you save 20%, for a cost of $100 per person, or $1000 a table. Book a space for yourself or reserve a table for a group of your friends for an evening they won't forget. Space is limited and the demand for seating is intense each year, so early reservations are strongly recommended. Hudson Valley Cheeses & Green Salad
Apple and Pear Crumble
And the music of, among others, Copland, Gershwin, Porter, and local jazz.
And, I almost forgot, there will again be a silent auction of wonderful items from members of our community.
