WHY AM I NOT FAMOUS?

Originally developed at the Shadowland Theatre in Ellenvillle, NY ( Brendan Burke, Artistic Director) Jason Downs' "one man with a band" show "Why am I Not Famous" comes to the Rosendale Theatre for a special one night engagement.

Jason Downs was a child actor and "star" by the age of 11. Since then he has very diligently plied his talents just south of renown, landing minor roles in the original John Waters film Hairspray and in Clara's Heart with Whoopi Goldberg; doing spots on SNL and appearing in nationally televised commercials; and signing a record deal with Jive, which led to a top 20 hit in the UK and a European tour. The show offers a tongue-in-cheek take on fame and celebrity in America today, with Jason and the band covering his splendidly obscure journey from Frank Sinatra to Bob Dylan to Elvis to the Doors and hopefully to enlightenment.
