2017 Student Symposium
Join undergraduate, graduate and PhD planning students from programs across the Los Angeles region at the 11th annual APA Los Angeles Student Symposium! This year, the symposium will focus on "Innovation in Planning" by engaging students and professionals in a participatory discussion of new, creative solutions to the world's most challenging and imminent planning issues. This exciting one-day event will take place on Saturday, February 11, 2017 on the University of Southern California campus.
In the morning, James Rojas will be leading a workshop on participatory planning in which participants will learn about tools that enable planners to humanize the planning process, generate active discussions and facilitate productive collaboration.
Following lunch, practitioners representing various facets of the planning field will come together to discuss how they are pursuing innovative solutions in the professional world. The panel will speak to the successes and challenges they face as they strive to challenge the status quo.
Following the symposium, students, planners, and professionals in related fields are invited to continue the discussion and share ideas over drinks. Join us! Exact location to be provided soon.
