Alan Reid & Rob Van Sante, seminal figures of the Scottish folk revival, will perform at Sandywoods as part of their current US tour, premiering their new CD "The Adventures of John Paul Jones."
For forty years Alan was at the very heart of Scotland's famous Battlefield Band, touring the world, his masterful keyboard playing helping to shape the band's signature sound. Alan plays keyboards, accordion, and guitar, and sings with a wonderful Scottish lilt.
Rob van Sante, originally from the Netherlands and now residing in Leeds, has a lovely guitar style. He blends his playing and singing superbly with Alan. They have formed a new and successful partnership, with an excellent blend of modern and traditional folk music.
Alan & Rob have just released a marvelous new CD, "The Adventures of John Paul Jones," a tour de force that "weaves an almost magical spell conjuring visions of brooding Scottish vistas while just as easily slipping into a sense of joviality."
