Film Screening: Weight of the Nation
18 Reasons is excited to continue our three-part documentary film screening and panel discussion series tackling big food issues. Each film will be followed by a conversation with a local expert.
Our second screening will be the insightful HBO series The Weight of the Nation, we will be focusing on the final section of this four-part series entitled Challenges. In a bold attempt to discuss our nation's rapidly developing obesity epidemic The Weight of the Nation brings together the nation's leading research institutions for this documentary series featuring case studies, interviews with our nation's leading experts, and individuals and their families struggling with obesity.
Following the film we will be joined by Adrienne Markworth, founder and Executive Director of the organization Leah's Pantry as well as Laura Brainin-Rodriguez, Coordinator of the Feeling Good Project at the S.F. Department of Public Health, Nutrition Services. (68 minutes)
