Camp Woods / Dirty Shame
Camp Woods blends surrealism, sharp wit and energetic performances with homemade props, sets, puppets and costumes to create a live experience that is sometimes smart, sometimes stupid, and always fun. Their performances are in the silly, absurdist vein of Monty Python's Flying Circus, The Kids In the Hall, Mr. Show and Chappelle's Show and have generated positive reviews from the Indianapolis Business Journal: "Equal parts laughs and 'D they just do that?' headshakes (usually accompanied by a smile)" and Philadelphia comedy blog WitOut: "Always surprising and fun ... Camp Woods is hilarious in their absolute madcap absurdity."
AND
The Dirty Shame comprises brothers Lee and Matt Barats who make full use of their chemistry, combining sharp and often physical scenes with solo characters to create a world that balances the grounded and absurd in smart ways. Their show has been described as "intelligently mischievous," which sounds pretty cool. Lee and Matt can be found in Chicago at iO, The Annoyance, CIC, and the Playground Theater.
