Cheah Chan Duo presents "A Feast of Lanterns"
The Cheah Chan Duo kicks off 2017 by ringing in the Year of the Rooster with a recital of Chinese and Chinese-translated art songs.
Featuring the world première of a new song cycle "Li Bai Drinks In The Moonlight" by Martha Sullivan and "Bring On The Wine" by Frank J. Oteri, both composed especially for this concert. Other pieces include "Songs from the Chinese" by Benjamin Britten, "Five Songs from the Chinese" by Charles Tomlinson Griffes, works by Granville Bantock, Derek Healey, and Anton Webern, as well as art songs from China.
So grab your red packets and come on down to the Marc A. Scorca Hall at The National Opera Center (330 Seventh Avenue between W. 28th and 29th) to join us for this festive celebration!
