The Merling Trio
The Merling Trio is recognized as one of today's premier ensembles featuring piano, violin, and cello, bringing together musicians from Polish, Japanese, and Dutch backgrounds. These artists, endowed with remarkable gifts of communication, magnificent precision, and an impeccable blend of sound will perform the New Mexico premiere of the Second Piano Trio (2012), written for them by Peter Scott Lewis. The remainder of this superb classical evening includes Mozart's Piano Trio in C Major, K. 548 and the Piano Trio No. 2 in C Minor, Op. 66 by Mendelssohn. "The Merling Trio performed with the warmth of a family coming home to play for friends" is one accolade apt for the Historic Old Church.
