Lynn Deeves, Trina Hamlin, and Kate Schrock
On Saturday, October 13they're backsinger-songwriters Lynn Deeves, Trina Hamlin and Colleen Sexton will again grace the stage at Frontier with a soulful and uplifted evening of "joyful noise!" This trio of (usually solo) performers has performed each fall at fine venues and colleges throughout Maine over the past 10 years, after randomly meeting and sparking a chemistry.
Lynn Deeves came to the stage via the New England top-40 rock circuit in "spandex and spiked hair." She has released four independent CD's since 1996 and has performed with America, Catie Curtis and Ellis Paul. Portland Press Herald says: "5 star stage presence this gals' got a set of pipes" Deeves recently contributed a track to the "Pink Album", a compilation CD of 26 Maine women artists and a benefit project for the Maine Breast Cancer Coalition.
"Pianist - vocalist - songwriter Kate Schrock has been a DIY artist since 1994 when she released her first nationally acclaimed record, 'Refuge.' Since then she has released 6 more CD's. Expanding upon her unique brand of thought provoking lyrics and soulful delivery, she's earned comparisons to Besse Smith & Eva Cassidy.
Minneapolis-born songwriter, Trina Hamlin attended Berklee School of Music, earning a degree in Professional Music. In 1998, after singing voice-overs for commercials, she stepped into the national spotlight with songs featured on TV's "Dawson's Creek", television with Conan O'Brien and radio with Rick Dees. She tours with Susan Werner's band and has opened for Rickie Lee Jones and John Hiatt. Hamlin's energy and passionate performance are exceeded only by her soulful harmonica-wailings in her R and B, blues-tinged songs.
This dynamic and fun trio of songwriters merges creatively and dynamically with soaring three-part harmonies, guitars, harmonica, flute, percussion and much laughter!
