Songwriters In The Round
Matt Newberg
Born in upstate New York and raised on the coast of Maine, Matt Newberg has rural life in his blood. The rugged coast and fresh air breathe life into his songs. Captivated by human stories, Newberg's lyrics contemplate love, work, life's ebb and flow. With his trusty '69 Dove in hand, he will lead you down roads traveled by the likes of Neil Young and James McMurtry, often diverging onto side roads all his own.
Kat Logan
The full, clear and rich color of Kat's voice combine with her Celtic roots, bluesy bends and a soulful depth, making her songs and presentation of them a memorable one. A love of the folk style shows through ....Grammy nominated for her work on Singing Through the Hard Times, a tribute to Utah Phillips, she has also recorded on 2 Cd's with Gordon Bok and is presently a part of the trio, Meteora, with her husband Jim Loney and Will Brown. Her songwriting illustrating her love of family, life and her appreciated living of it, is accompanied by piano, accordion, guitar and banjo.
Brad Hooper
Not to be pigeon-holed, the genre Brad Hooper works in is: High-Mileage Country Blues. Musically this latitude leaves him plenty of "room to move." Brad plays regularly around Western Maine. "This guy's the real deal. No flash, no gimmicks, just solid guitar playing and soulful vocals applied to honest, original songs." - Chris Busby - The Bollard "Brad possesses the qualities of a first-class songwriter with a classic voice to match! There is a real [John Prine] thing going on and people need to hear it." - Michael Rizzo - EpicSoul.com
