The Meltdown Incentive: Everything Is In Fall Bloom; a 2nd Sunday Concert at the New School of Music
It's an unorthodox music program, fun for the family, showcasing talents of renowned musicians of all backgrounds. The musical performance will improv from respected poets, haiku, sections of stories, craigslist ads, recipes and more with themes based around fall and New England.
Expert improvisers as well as interpreters of contemporary concert music, The Meltdown Incentive has performed at a range of venues and events that represents the diversity of their artistic vision. In addition to solo shows at a variety of spaces throughout the Boston area, they have also collaborated with poets, visual artists, and other ensembles at events sponsored by Northeastern University, Wheaton College, Longy School of Music, Andover-Newton Theological School, and Eastern Nazarene College. In 2010, TMI presented a joint concert with Amsterdam's internationally- acclaimed duo Rare Degree, and also performed a children's show to a packed house in Boston to rave reviews. They are currently working on an album.
""The TMI improvisations hewed closely to the texts, the voice often given to reminders of Pierrot-style Sprechstimme and the music with frequently bent pitches, long wails and percussive effects on and around the electric bass (placed horizontally on its back) and giving sometimes the impression of 1950s cool jazz....the performances were all high quality." classical-scene.com"
