Yves Lambert Trio in Concert

The Ojai Concert Series continues it's commitment to bring outstanding musicians to Ojai with exciting Canadian Québécois music on Saturday, March 18th, by the "rarely on the west coast, but famous on the east", Yves Lambert Trio playing some delightful Quebec folk music (think energetic Cajun/Zydeco dance tunes) from north of the border .

In 1976 Yves Lambert formed the now legendary La Bottine Souriante, a Quebec folk band specializing in traditional Québécois music with a modern twist, and was their driving force for the next 20 years. In 2003, this charismatic singer and accordionist, bubbling with ideas, charisma and enthusiasm left the band and joining up with multi-instrumentalist Tommy Gauthier and Olivier Rondeau from the (equally famous) Bébert Orchestra, and started to assert a new identity as a solo act.

By combining the festive music, he had been steeped in for 25 years, and dance tunes, that played constantly in his head, he has created a Québécois sound all his own. This startling innovation on the traditional French Canadian music scene has captivated a whole new generation of fans and for ten years now has not ceased to amaze audiences and critics alike.

With three nationally acclaimed albums behind them, the Yves Lambert Trio offers a personal and creative interpretation of traditional Québécois repertoire, with bubbling with prowess and ingenuity, that on stage is a personal, touching and memorable musical experience that will stick in you mind and heart long after you are home and tucked into bed.
