"Loving Repeating: A Musical of Gertrude Stein"
A stunning look at Gertrude Stein's life, language and love. Told through a series of vignettes, this 2005 musical by Stephen Flaherty ("Ragtime," "Once On This Island," "Seussical the Musical") is framed within a 1934 lecture Stein gave at the University of Chicago. Songs and words unfold the story of her relationship to writing and her romance with beloved Alice B. Toklas. "Loving Repeating" is a beautiful intersection of music, lyrics and love.
All tickets are general admission. Please arrive early to pickup tickets at will call. Refreshments are available by donation before the performance and a reception with refreshments will follow both performances.
