Vancouver Cantata Singers- "Musica Pro Pace"
In these intimate concerts, VCS takes advantage of a hidden gem: the architecturally and acoustically unique Samuel and Frances Belzberg Atrium of the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue in downtown Vancouver.
We're excited to be able to present profoundly moving unaccompanied choral music in a unique and beautiful space. The choir will be divided and singing across listeners from as high as five stories above, recreating the ethereal and contemplative environment of a Gothic cathedral.
In this quiet and thought-provoking concert, the choir will create a serene and meditative space in the middle of the busiest part of downtown Vancouver. We encourage listeners to relax, get comfortable and lose themselves in waves of choral magic.
Featured in the program is William Byrd's Mass For Four Voices, and Samuel Barber's Adagio For Strings in the composer's own arrangement for unaccompanied choir.
Due to space restrictions, seating for both evenings is extremely limited. We encourage everyone to purchase tickets in advance as both shows will likely sell out quickly.
