So just who are Dana Louise and the Glorious Birds? The ringleader is Dana Louise Idlet, and the Glorious Birds are Adam Collins, Keith Grimwood, and Ezra Idlet (Danas father, and if the names Keith Grimwood and Ezra Idlet sound a little familiar, youll understand why soon.)
Dana Louise is a new songstress astonishing audiences with her vibrant, melodic vocals, adept finger-picking and cool sound. Drawing from jazz and bluegrass, carrying a contemporary beat, the sound is roots-rooted flung-into-the-future folk. Dana Louise & the Glorious Birds work to leave their audiences glowing with the magic music can bring: genuine human connection. And it all happened by accident.
During a solo journey to the Azores Islands in 2011, Dana Louise, a visual artist, taught herself to play guitar. Dana forged the beginnings of her sound practicing amidst the archipelagos lava rocks and dragon trees. Back in the States, she began singing and songwriting professionally, touring regionally and internationally. That she showed such impressive talent so quickly didnt come as a surprise; she had been dabbling in music her whole life. She had been surrounded by it, in fact; her father Ezra Idlet, along with Keith Grimwood, had been performing as Trout Fishing in America since before she was born. They released 21 albums, garnered four Grammy nominations, three National Indie Awards, a closetful of Parents Choice awards, and toured the globe.
And now, along with Adam Collins on vibraphone and banjo, Ezra and Keith are The Glorious Birds which means that Dana Louise and the Glorious Birds must be one incredible group. And they are. Dana brings her vibrant, melodic vocals and finger picking to a body of complex songs.

You might have heard of Trout Fishing in America, but you probably havent heard Dana Louise and the Glorious Birds. But dont make the mistake of thinking that that means they arent worth hearing; to the contrary, this is a group that is on their way to the top of the mountain, and is setting a remarkable pace on their race to the top. This is one you dont want to miss, and not just because seeing them now means you can always say Yeah, I saw them back before everybody in the world knew who they were.
