JC & Laney and Doug Haywood Concert Evening
The evening begins at 8pm, with JC & Laney, who, while sitting on bar stools in an establishment in 2009 on Infamous Whiskey Row in Prescott, AZ, as only fate would have it, began singing in harmony their first song together ever, Bell Bottom Blues. And though they did not know each other before this song, they were immediately hired by the bartender, and thus became the duo JC & Laney. You can't make this stuff up! They are now best known for their instantly recognizable harmonies, memorable original songs and impromptu banter between themselves & with their audience.
JC Scott, from Long Island, NY cut his teeth in front of crowds during the Classic Rock Era playing guitar and singing with musicians from Arlo Guthrie, Lindsay Buckingham, Kenny Loggins & Weird Al (Oh & Chuck Berry); writing and recording 5 Solo Albums/CD's before meeting Laney.
Laney Greynolds, a powerhouse of emotion you must hear to believe, has been singing Traditional Country, Gospel & Rock Music since she could breathe. As lead singer & the driving force with Saddletramp (1988-2009) a well-known classic rock band, she had recorded with many artists over her career & made many friends at every stop along the way, same as she does now.
You may have heard them on Pandora or Spotify or on a dozen other Internet radio stations, or heard their songs which are being performed by touring artists in Europe & in the US. They tour Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona & Nevada each year.
If you get a chance to see this duo and the trademark emotional delivery of their one of kind Acoustic Folk-Rock-Americana Show, you won't be sorry you took the time. Besides that, they guarantee they'll be your new best friends. Regularly featured at Prescott, Tucson, Glendale & Flagstaff Festivals, as well as house concerts, theatres & other music venues throughout the US, their live appearances are always filled with odd & entertaining banter & a diverse selection of songs that will steal your heart away.
JC & Laney have asked their friend Doug Haywood to join them tonight! Doug's songs have been recorded by many artists including Bobbie Gentry, Jennifer Warnes, The Dillards, Juice Newton, David Lindley, Jerry Reed, Max Merritt and The Meteors, John Travolta and John Hartford. When Doug's "If It Ain't Love By Now, co-written with Jeff Barry, was recorded by Jim Ed Brown and Helen Cornelius, it soared into Billboard's Top Ten Country chart. Doug's enchanting "Christmas Lullaby, co-written with Jack Tempchin, was released on Mason Williams' beautiful acoustic Christmas album, "A Gift of Song."
Doug Haywood has played bass on recordings and/or on stage with: Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, Warren Zevon, Hal Blaine, Byron Berline, Brewer and Shipley and many others. Doug also produces recordings and plays and sings on recordings in his studio and in other studios.
