MONTY PYTHON'S LIFE OF BRIAN
In English and Latin with English subtitles.

Monty Python's Life of Brian , also known as Life of Brian , is a 1979 comedy written and performed by the Monty Python comedy team. It tells the story of Brian Cohen (played by Graham Chapman), a young man born at the same time as Jesus Christ who is mistaken for the Messiah.

The film was controversial due to its combination of comedy and religious themes. However, it has also been very popular with viewers: in 2000, readers of Total Film magazine voted it the greatest comedy film of all time; in 2004, the same magazine named it the 5th greatest British film of all time; in 2006 it was voted the best comedy movie of all time on two separate polls conducted by the British TV channels Channel 4 and Five.

Reviews:
After all these years, the pungency of this satire about the perils of mass miscommunication hasn't dissipated. LA Weekly

A beautiful film, a perfect comedy, and a gentle triumph of silliness over pomposity, self-importance, and intolerance. BBC

It has been said that a Monty Python movie is only successful if it offends everyone in the audience at least once. By that measuring stick as well as nearly any other, The Life of Brian is an unqualified triumph. It makes us confront our foibles and laugh at them. -ReelViews

Astringently funny masterpiece. LA Weekly

The more things change, the more we have to laugh if we are to have a prayer of remaining sane, and the Pythons are the best possible step in that direction. -Los Angeles Times

For all its scruffiness, the lurching strike-rate of its gags, and the unmistakable smell of amateur dramatics given off by its repertory of rotating players with their stick-on Ted Nugent beards, Life of Brian jitters with good will. The New Yorker
