Oscar Hernandez and Alma Libre Quintet
The San Luis Obispo County Jazz Federation is excited to present in concert the multi-talented, three-time Grammy Award winner Oscar Hernandez and his Quintet; this is the Jazz Feds annual Marilyn Greenberg Memorial Concert and will be held on Saturday, January 21st at 7:30pm in the Unity Concert Hall, 1130 Orcutt Road/San Luis Obispo.
Hernandez, a pianist as well as leader of the acclaimed Spanish Harlem Orchestra, features his all-star group, comprised of Jimmy Branly on drums, Justo Almario on saxophone and flute, Eddie Resto on bass and Christian Moraga on percussion. This international Latin Jazz quintet has played with Freddie Hubbard, Mongo Santamaria, Tito Puente, Carlos Santana and Arturo Sandoval, among many others.
Tickets are priced at $25 for general admission, $20 for Jazz Fed members and $15 for students. Advance tickets are also available at Boo Boo Records in SLO.
